The Kinistin Justice Program offers Restorative Justice through alternative measures. Restorative Justice in simple terms is “repairing the harm that has been done.”
The Kinistin Justice Program includes:
Referrals to the Program, which are made through the RCMP, Court and Community
Bi-weekly visits, arranged by the probation worker at the Justice Office
A Fine Option Program, administered by the Justice Coordinator
Alternative measures are the various tools used in the program. These include
Community Justice forums
Presentations and workshops are regularly delivered as part of the education and awareness.
This is the short version of the program. Any other questions can and will be answered by the Justice Coordinator, who can be contacted at the band office.
